We welcome you to the Dearborn STEP Assessment program and are excited to share what we have to offer to students, parents/guardians and referring districts.
The STEP program embraces all students as individuals and is committed to providing them with an environment of acceptance, respect and openness. Our caring, highly trained staff members develop academic, clinical, and milieu programming custom-tailored to the needs of each student.
Through a rigorous, comprehensive assessment, we gain a holistic understanding of each student. We collaborate with our students, their family members/guardians, district partners, treatment providers, and others who are directly involved in order to help us understand their strengths and challenges. We seek to provide an integrated understanding of students’ academic and clinical needs in order to help them function successfully in an academic setting.
Our staff members strive to make strong connections with students by engaging them in a gentle, genuine, respectful, patient and supportive manner. As students begin to see the many possibilities open to them, we help them develop academic and social-emotional strategies that create a successful transition to the next step in their educational journey.
