Who We Serve

Our main focus is on facilitating a student’s successful reintegration to their previous setting or helping them transition to a more appropriate educational placement.

Program extensions are available upon school request.

Dearborn STEP serves a diverse student body in Grades 5 – 12 from districts all across Massachusetts.

STEP students represent a wide range of learning profiles. Some have average to above-average cognitive abilities, while others may experience below-average or low performance in certain areas.

Our trained teachers and clinicians support the individual needs of students with a wide range of social/emotional challenges, including but not limited to:

  • Learning disabilities
  • Executive functioning challenges
  • Anxiety
  • ADHD
  • OCD
  • Autism
  • Trauma
  • Depression and mood disorders
  • School avoidance

Due to our intentionally small program size (with a maximum of 16 students), we can accommodate each student’s unique learning profile and adapt our teaching approach accordingly. Our clinical caseload is extremely small (1 or 2 students per clinician), which allows STEP to go deeply into a student’s history, collaborating with past collaterals and schools.
